A quarter century ago, OMG's Unified Modeling Language (UML) absolutely redefined efficiency in modeling software intensive systems. It has had such a lasting impact, that engineers today continue to unconsciously use it despite stating they don't. It has indeed become second nature in the way modeling is done. Now, there is a well-founded expectation that OMG's Essence standard will not only follow suit, but have a greater resonating effect when working with methods in software engineering because it doesn’t just deal with modeling, it involves every facet in the software engineering process. During this webinar you will learn the essence (fundamentals and values) of Essence. Carlos Mario Zapata-Jaramillo (Professor of Computer & Decision Science, Universidad Nacional de Colombia) once said, “400 years from now people will talk about Essence in the same way as people talk about what Newton and Galileo did 400 years ago”. In short, Essence has and will continue to have a profound impact on software engineering operations. We will also discuss how and why Essence facilitates the elimination of the irrelevant when working with methods, such as the proliferation of gurus and methodological sects, having no common ground for methods, and no bridge between learning and action. We will also discuss and demonstrate various “killer use cases”, which Essence brings to teams and organizations developing software. We won’t force you to take our words at face value. Rather, we will invite key individuals from large organizations that have either adopted Essence or are in the process of doing so. We will also invite well-known methodologists who have streamlined their work using Essence. Finally, we will discuss work that is nearly underway in OMG generalizing Essence to be effective across the engineering spectrum. We guarantee an eye and mind opening webinar, which you will reference long after viewing.

... Leer más
