As we are nearing the end of 2020, a challenging year that turned many things upside down, it is clear that at least one factor stays unchanged: financial threats remain one of the key security concerns both for individuals and organizations. As cybercriminals continually evolve and invest into the development of new tools, reinvent themselves and their tactics, techniques and procedures, one may ask what can we learn from the experience we faced in 2020 and what the 2021 will bring in terms of financial threats. In this talk, Dmitry Bestuzhev, Kaspersky’s head of Global Research and Analysis team (GReAT) in Latin America and Ivan Kwiatkowski, senior security research at Kaspersky’s GReAT team in Europe, attempt to answer these questions by presenting an exclusive overview of the top cyberthreats targeting financial institutions in 2020 and share the company’s predictions for this area in 2021. And what is more, Francisco Flores Ramírez, threat researcher Banco del Estado de Chile, will join the discussion and tap into Kaspersky’s financial threats predictions for 2021, presenting different angles and his view on what the future will bring to us.
