Over the last several years, companies have brought data and analytics into the c-suite in a major way. Primarily exemplified by the Chief Analytics Officer and Chief Data Officer, the creation of these new c-level roles illustrates — and signals to the rest of the organization — the importance of data and analytics.

But not without some organizational risk.

When created and defined with clarity, CAO and CDO roles provide a management structure around data management and security, analytics, and business intelligence, which have previously been decentralized and diffused within an organization.

But role proliferation in data and analytics can make organizational collaboration and execution around information and technology more difficult, sparking turf battles, confusing reporting structures, and conflicting priorities.

This webinar explores the opportunities, as well as the challenges and potential conflicts, that often arise when a company opts to name a Chief Analytics Officer or Chief Data Officer (or both). IIA Faculty Members Tom Davenport, Bob Morison, Bill Franks and Mike Lampa will review examples from their latest research on the roles and responsibilities of Chief Analyitcs Officers and Chief Data Officers, and offer suggestions to help both data and analytics chiefs succeed within their organizations.

... Leer más
