Decision Intelligence: Embedding AI into the DNA of Daily Operations

Data only matters if it changes what people actually do. That's where most teams hit a wall: the gap between insight and action. This session tackles that challenge head-on. We'll explore what Decision Intelligence looks like when it's woven into everyday operations, using AI to support the countless small decisions happening across your business, not just the headline-grabbing strategic ones. We'll start by shifting perspective from data-first to decision-first thinking. Rather than building models in a vacuum, it begins with understanding how your business really works: where decisions get made, who's making them, and where AI can genuinely make a difference. From there, we'll examine how machine learning, causal reasoning, and optimisation work together to do more than predict outcomes. They recommend what to do next. Then we'll address the part that often gets missed: the human element. If your team can't easily act on what a model suggests, it doesn't matter how sophisticated it is. We'll look at practical "decision UX", designing systems that frontline teams can use confidently without needing to decode complex outputs. The aim is straightforward: shift from dashboards that tell you what happened to systems that drive consistent, scalable decisions as they unfold.
