The New Botnet Era: Defending Against Hyper-Volumetric DDoS and Residential Proxy Attacks

Internet-scale attacks have entered a new phase. Modern botnets are larger, faster, and harder to detect - capable of generating unprecedented traffic volumes while blending into legitimate user activity. Recent threats such as the Aisuru and Kimwolf botnets illustrate how attackers are combining massive device networks with residential proxy infrastructure to overwhelm traditional defenses. In this thought leadership session, we examine the rise of hyper-volumetric DDoS attacks and the growing “proxy-as-a-service” ecosystem that weaponizes consumer devices at a global scale. Attendees will gain insight into how these botnets operate, why legacy or automation-only dependent DDoS defenses are losing effectiveness, and what organizations must do to remain resilient against the next generation of large-scale attacks.
